Code Crackers
A free cryptography game for kids
Mo the Moai and Bleep the robot teach kids aged 5 to 10 how secret codes work, in 6 short lessons (about 10 minutes):
- The Treasure Chest: A key is a secret that opens a lock, like a password.
- Try Them All!: Computers can try every key, one by one, until one works.
- Two-Word Lock: Each extra choice multiplies the number of combinations.
- The Growing Tower: Each extra secret word multiplies the possibilities.
- The Smoothie Machine: A hash is easy to make and impossible to undo, which is why an address is safe to share.
- Your Super Secret: Secrets picked at random are much harder to guess than favorite words.
Every screen can be read aloud. Kids finish with a certificate to print or share. No ads, no accounts, no sign-up, and nothing to install.
